This trip highlights the natural scenic view of temperate forests and grasslands in North China, but also shows the landscape of Chinese imperial gardens. The first day we will enjoy many plant collections of Beijing Botanical Garden, explore the vegetation of Cherry Valley and Western Hills. The second day, we will leave Beijing, investigate the thick forest of Wuling Mountain, and explore the plants of temperate broad-leaved forest and subalpine meadow. The third day we will tour the imperial summer resort of Qing Dynasty - Chengde Mountain Resort. The fourth day, we turn to the imperial hunting grounds of the Qing Dynasty – Mulan paddock in Saihanba area, where a symposium will be conducted with the researchers of Saihanba Station of ecological and environmental observing systems, Peking University. The fifth day, we will explore the temperate forest and grassland in Saihanba Tower and Hongsongwa Nature Reserve, as well as the wetland plants in Qixing Lake and Moon Lake. Finally, we will leave Saihanba and return to Beijing via Chengde.
