Deadline for IBC 2017 Awards Application Has Been Extended to February 28, 2017
The Organizing Committee of IBC 2017 has decided to establish the IBC2017 Awards program to encourage and assist outstanding scientists and students to actively participate in IBC 2017. The Awards include the Outstanding Student Award and the Excellent Scholar Award. The Outstanding Student Award is for undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows to attend the Congress and contribute high quality oral presentations or posters. The Excellent Scholar Award supports scientists who have conducted high quality research to attend the Congress to give oral presentations or posters. Preferences will be given to young scientists and those from developing countries.
Both Awards include three categories:
(a) traveling expenses between awardee's city and Shenzhen (12000 RMB at maximum) and complimentary registration to the Congress;
(b) traveling expenses between awardee's city and Shenzhen (8000 RMB at maximum) and complimentary registration to the Congress;
(c) waiver of the registration fee.
Application Instructions
All applications must be submitted using the online application form. Having an abstract accepted by the Congress is a prerequisite for the application. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that every applicant submit the abstract as soon as possible in order to be qualified to apply for the Awards in time.
Fill in the field labeled Abstract ID with the code you received when your abstract is accepted. This code will be used to retrieve information from the Congress registration system.
Upload a photocopy of your ID or passport using the 'ID Upload' button and your CV containing your publication list using the 'CV Upload' button. For Student Award, please using the "SID Upload" button to upload a photocopy of your student ID or letter of confirmation of your student status signed by the head of your department; Postdoctoral fellows should upload a copy of their supervisor's recommendation letter.
Please indicate your justification for applying for an IBC 2017 Award in the field labeled 'Reasons for application'. The evaluation process will consider the scientific merit of your presentation, the need for financial assistance, the number of countries represented by the awardees, and gender balance.
