Shenzhen International Award in Plant Sciences
Call for Nominations now!
The Shenzhen International Award in Plant Sciences was jointly established by the Botanical Society of China, the Botanical Society of Shenzhen, and Shenzhen Techand Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd. The purpose of the Award is to commemorate the IBC 2017, the first International Botanical Congress to be held in China, and is intended to promote the implementation of the Shenzhen Declaration on Plant Sciences. The Award is intended to recognize scientists who have conducted breakthrough research in both basic and applied plant sciences and whose outstanding contributions have impacted our understanding of the plant world. The Award will be given at successive meetings of the International Botanical Congress, starting with the one in Shenzhen; it may be given to one or two plants scientists on the occasion of each Congress. Presented at the closing ceremony of each Congress, the Award will consist of a cup, a prize of RMB 700,000, and travel expenses to the Award ceremony. Financial support for the Award is provided by the Shenzhen Techand Ecology Public Wel-fare Foundation.

The Shenzhen declaration on plant sciences
Uniting plant sciences and society to build a green, sustainable Earth
Actions and priorities to connect the global community of plant scientists
with the world’s changing societies are today more imperative than
ever. Environmental degradation, unsustainable resource use, and biodiversity
loss all require integrated, collaborative solutions.
The Shenzhen Declaration Drafting Committee have made the document ready
for release. A preliminary pdf version of the document has been put into
the downloads in the congress website. Please click the below button for

Last opportunity to book the Congress field trips
The deadline for booking the congress field trips had been extended
to June 15th, 2017. Please note that of the 26 trips planned, 11 were canceled
due to less interests from delelgates, and 4 were confirmed due to the
booking reached the minimum level. The left trips will depend on the number
of booking by the extended deadline. We urge participants to book the trips
as soon as possible in order to prevent your interested trips being cancelled.

Getting ready for coming: visa, hotel, and registration fee
As we are very near to the Congress date, please get ready for coming
by applying entry visa, booking your hotel, and paying the congress registration
fee. All the matters takes time. Please get all the things done as soon
as possible.
